You wouldn’t know it by the temps this week, but summer is rapidly drawing to a close. It’s been kinda a crazy summer temp wise with some cooler days in July and August until school started and it finally got hot right in time for kids to be in school and the pool to close! Ha!! Typical.
But thanks to the folks at Goldfish Swim School, that’s not so much of an issue for us these days. Goldfish Swim School is an indoor aquatics facility that offers year-round swim instruction and open swim times for kids and families. The owners started the company in 2006 after seeing the need and demand for high-quality swim instruction for kids and a place to offer those lessons year-round. What makes Goldfish Swim School so special is their proprietary curriculum and low teacher-student ratio, both meant to create the optimum learning experience for our kids. The classes are year round with no start and end dates. They place your child in the class that best matches their skill level. Once your child masters the skills taught in that level, the staff will move them up to the next level. So it is totally child-driven- the instruction, the progression – all determined by the needs and skill level or your child.
The pool at Goldfish Swim School is kept at a balmy 90degrees year round. No more tears at swim lessons because the water is too cold (even in June sometimes!). They keep the air temp poolside at 92 so that the kids aren’t cold when they get out of the pool too. Luckily, they have a nice air-conditioned area for parents to sit in so that we can see our kids (and they can see us) without us having to sweat. They truly thought of everything.
To be a member at Goldfish Swim School, you pay an annual membership fee of $25 and then a monthly fee for lessons per child ($80 first child and reduced rates for additional children). They also offer daily family swim times that are included in your membership (additional fee for Friday night swim). So you and your kids can swim in the nice warm temps year round!
If you are interested in learning more about Goldfish Swim School, they are having a Grand Opening Open House this Sunday the 15th and their newest location in Naperville. From 3-7pm, you can come and meet the instructors and swim in the pool. There will also be all kinds of fun activities there to celebrate the grand opening (bounce houses, face painting and more!).
So don’t fret that you can’t go to the pool today with this record-breaking heat or that it is about the get chilly and then freezing cold. Goldfish Swim School has us all covered.
