Knights in Training: Medieval Times

Posted at 10:19 pm on August 29, 2012 by Farrah

**GIVEAWAY ALERT**

Indulge your little knights and princesses and take them to Medieval Times!  My little guys can turn almost anything, including couch cushions and dog toys, into swords and shields.  And when they found out we were going to have dinner at a “real castle” where “real knights” would be jousting and sword fighting, you can imagine they were pretty pumped!!

This year, Medieval Times is celebrating their 20th anniversary as one of the most popular live entertainment venues in the Midwest. It’s such a fun, family friendly and unique show/dinner event. Now they have a new show, which debuted in March, and this summer the Chicago Castle (as it’s often referred to) is offering Princess & Knight Training for children ages 5-12, on weekends before the matinee performance now through September 30th. The training is free with paid admission and takes place an hour before show time.

Even if you have seen the show before- it’s a fun trip every time and with the Princess/Knight Training it is an added bonus!  Both my boys got to go down into the arena before the show to learn real sword fighting moves from the knights themselves.  It was like little boy heaven! (But not just for boys… there were boys and girls down there learning their best sword swinging techniques!)  They have Princess Training before the Saturday matinee shows and Knight Training before the Sunday shows.  I recommend getting there right when the doors open since they only take the first 100kids.  It was fabulous- super fun for the kids and a joy to watch.

Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament is located at 2001 N. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg, IL. For more information or to purchase show tickets go online to www.medievaltimes.com/chicago or call 1-888-WE-JOUST (888-935-6878). Or follow them on Facebook.

**GIVEAWAY**  I have 4 tickets to the performance of your choice to giveaway!!  Just leave a comment below to enter.  If you “like” the Medieval Times Facebook page (good for show and discount information), leave an extra comment telling me you did for an additional entry.  Winner will be chosen on September 8th and notified via e-mail.  Tickets must be used with 60 days and advanced registration is required.  But you should use them before September 30th so you can do the free knight/princess training before the show.

Disclaimer: I was given free tickets for my family to go and see the show so that I could help spread the word about what a fun show it is.  The opinions expressed here, however, are purely my own and not influenced by the company or PR people in any way.
