Do you Pin?

Have you gotten sucked in yet? I have. Big time.
Pinterest, the latest and greatest social networking site, has truthfully been a welcome addition to my world. I should say, that the ability to surf Pinterest on my pretty, new iPhone has given me hours of enjoyment. For me, it is social in that I get to see all kinds of good ideas and beautiful things that my friends have “pinned” and deamed to be worthy of sharing with others. Not as social as Facebook where you actually do more networking and keeping up with friends and family. But I just love feeling inspired to try these new recipes and crafts and projects for my home. I don’t know about you, but I find I have less and less time to sit and surf on my laptop these days. In the evenings I am just spent and want to read or watch RealHousewives and then head to bed. And half the time I am online, I feel so overwhelmed by the large scope of blogs and Etsy and internet in general that I end up wasting hours on Facebook and not doing much else. But now, thanks to Pinterest, I feel a renewed love for crafting and being creative. Seeing all these great ideas has re-sparked my love for creating fun and beautiful things with my kids and for my home. I think my home and my soul are more beautiful for having discovered Pinterest. A little melodramatic? Maybe. But I really am thankful for all the fun ideas and yummy treats and the inspiration to try them all.
People joke that it is simply another online time-suck and that most of us don’t really do the things that we pin. I say, it is less of a time-suck than searching dozens/hundreds of craft or DIY or recipe blogs/sites searching for good ideas or waiting for inspiration to hit. And I am constantly trying new ideas I see there!! It is seriously SO MUCH FUN!!
SO what about you? Are you pinning? I would love to follow those of you who are on there. And you can follow my pins if you want to.
Here is a couple of things I did this week (plus the heart crayons I posted earlier):
Now, excuse me while I finish the superhero valentines and heart mobile and felt heart garland I am working on…

Dang, woman, you are a Pinterest power user! I have had some hits and misses with Pinterest-based projects, but I do like how it’s just pure fun and not all boring and business-y like Facebook and Twitter. You know my feelings on the over- business-ification of social networking.
