With me working less and my boys being off school, we have had more time to just settle in and spend “quiet” time together.  By “quiet,” I mean not scheduled and no plans.  Just time home, together, to enjoy the moment for what it is.  I am so very thankful for that.

During our time at home this week, we made two crafts that were shared on our DupageMamas Facebook page.
The first was an adorable turkey craft (posted by Jill) from the PlumPudding blog (which has all kinds of great crafts!).
We simply traced and cut circles out of different colored cardboard boxes.  I layered the circles with some pieces of foam (to add depth) and added some extras (beak, etc..).  We glued most of it together with hotglue but the boys put their pieces together with regular craft glue and I came behind them as needed.  It was fun to let them help cut out the circles and then see them smile as the turkeys came together.  Afterwards, they did a little turkey puppet show for the Hubby and I.

Next, I just had to try these Gingerbread Cookies.  I searched for a turkey cookie cutter and couldn’t find one anywhere.  So we made stockings and hearts and stars and moons and pumpkins.  Still delicious though!  This recipe is so light and fluffy.  A keep for sure…

I hope this day is filled with wonderful memories and quiet moments for all of you.  Thank you for being a part of this amazing community of moms.  I am so blessed.  Happy Thanksgiving to y’all!

Oh, and one more plug for our DupageMamas Holiday Party on Dec.9th.  All are welcome!
