Is Your Baby a Psycho Baby?

I am a girly-girl. I like pink, I like bling, I like make-up and mani/pedis. So you’d think when I found out I was having a boy I would have been upset.
Not at all! Having a boy means that I am still the only Princess in our house. Also because I am a prissy girly-girl I know all of the tricks and would have had little tolerance for my daughter’s shenanigans.
There is one area however where I am constantly disappointed in the boy department. Clothes!
Walk into any children’s section or store and you will see row upon row of pink and ruffles and lace. Somewhere in a back corner you will find a tiny section of blue. Those blue clothes will have cars or puppy dogs on them and that’s about it.
Now I don’t know about you, but while I have nothing against cars and puppy dogs I would like a little more variety.
Enter Psycho Baby in Wicker Park. Unlike most kids’ clothing stores they have just as much for boys as they do for girls and it is all unique and fun! To quote their website, Psycho Baby carries ”cool clothes, funky shoes, modern toys, classic books and rockin’ accessories for babies, toddlers, big kids and the parents who love them!” Sounds good to me!
We were lucky enough to receive a couple of cute items from Psycho Baby as gifts before the baby was born,
a DJ Drool bib, The Man onesie and this awesome sneaker sock set. I loved how original the pieces looked and that they had a sense of humor! Then we wandered into Psycho Baby a couple of weeks ago. Oh my gosh, the selection! I immediately started rifling through the awesome band tees and onesies. Which to pick? The Beatles? The Who? Bob Marley?
In the end I decided on this FABULOUS Willie Nelson onesie. I know Little Ricky will be the coolest kid in town when he wears it.
As if the awesome clothes weren’t enough, as I checked out I discovered that they do a weekly story time with “Storybook Mom” every Wednesday morning. We will be back!
So, tell me, moms of boys, are you also frustrated by the pink explosion in children’s clothing stores? Where do you find cool, funky pieces for your little man?

Just wanted to add that we were at Psycho Baby (again!) on March 28 and they were doing free pictures with the Easter Bunny! I love this store!!
I am not familiar with this store but it sounds really cool.
I just got together Thursday night with my mom friends in the neighborhood and we had a conversation about how it is almost impossible to find cute and fun boy clothes, so this is perfect!
Thanks for sharing.
