Byton Picks

Being a busy Mommy, whenever I hear the words “on the go” my ears perk up.  Especially if I have the chance to change my routine just a bit and get twice the work done in half the time.  And, well…I’m one of those people who make excuses in the Dentist chair when asked about flossing.  I just don’t manage to get it done.

Not long ago when Bryton Pick contacted me and asked if I’d be interested in trying out their picks for flossing on the go, I was hoping this would be the answer to my flossing problems.  On the surface there was much that I liked – each one is reusable, easy to carry, in a nice little case.  But using them was not so great.  The metal felt rough against my teeth’s enamel and I couldn’t help but remember that my Dentist says enamel can be damaged even by toothpicks (which are much softer than this metal, though I don’t know that it does any harm).

My husband had a more positive feeling for them, but he pointed out that the point of flossing is to get in the curve between gum and tooth, not the space between tooth and tooth.  Bryton Picks just aren’t designed to go there (at least not that I can figure out).

So, yet another quick fix that fell flat, at least for me.  How about you?  What short cuts have you found that actually make caring for yourself and your family easier?
